TRAUMATIC BRAIN INJURIES

What is a traumatic brain injury?

Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) occurs as a result of trauma to the head causing damage to the brain. When the skull and brain are subjected to excessive or violent force, resulting injuries may range from mild to severe and may include headache, dizziness, double vision, confusion, fatigue, memory loss, behavioral changes, loss of coordination, or even paralysis or coma, among other symptoms. There is also a wide range of outcomes associated with TBI ranging from total recovery to disability, or death. It may become impossible for an individual who has suffered a traumatic brain injury to care for him- or herself.

How can the Law Firm of Eric H. Weinberg help in the case of traumatic brain injury?

Resulting disabilities will depend on the severity and location of the injury, and often little can be done to reverse the effects of a TBI. Nevertheless, individuals affected may need brain surgery, and some may be candidates for rehabilitation in the form of physical, occupational or speech therapy and/or psychological support. Others may remain in a vegetative state. In any and all of these cases, compensation may help brain injury sufferers and their families cope with their new medical, psychological and familial situation. It may be useful to speak to an experienced attorney who has helped individuals in similar situations.
